What is Kambo?

Kambo is a waxy skin secretion derived from the Giant Monkey Frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor), a species native to the Amazon rainforest. Traditionally used by indigenous tribes in Brazil and Peru for "cleansing" and to enhance hunting skills, it has recently gained popularity in Western "biohacking" and alternative medicine circles as a ritualistic "detox" treatment. Kambo teaches the body how to heal itself again and bring it back to homeostasis one ceremony at a time with proper nutrition, diet and lifestyle to complete the healing. Treatments involve a deep physical and energetic cleansing of the body that can be used to treat a number of conditions ranging from depression, anxiety, addiction, physical illness, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraines, laziness, chronic pain, infections/toxins, and other issues. This is a very powerful and effective medicine from the Amazon that can be challenging to receive but often provides immediate results. It is especially helpful for getting through big blockages, resistance or creating big breakthroughs.

Other major conditions that Kambo helps in managing and starting/furthering the healing process that people have reported are Auto-Immune Disease, Fertility Issues, Certain Cancers, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Rheumatism, Fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease, Thyroid Disorders, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, and Skin Conditions Including Psoriasis due to Kambo's anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antifungal, antimicrobial, analgesic, immune/nervous system resetting and hormonal regulating properties. The bio-active peptides within Kambo are far reaching and heal our cells at such a deep level that some of the roots to our problems are really gone up against and helped forward. These bigger claims are anecdotal and are being scientifically researched/proven so please do take that into consideration and understand why this is being said. I personally have heard of and know many clients that have made great turn-arounds when it comes to Auto-Immune Disease and Fertility Issues like PCOS, which Kambo helped in subsiding the PCOS. Kambo can be a great addition to an already robust medical regiment.

For thousands of years Kambo has been used in the Amazon by tribal people as a powerful purgative and as a medicine for the full body. During the height of the experience it is common to feel sick and weak as toxins are being purged from the body - this phase usually lasts about 20-40 minutes.  After the purgative phase it is common to have a short 20 minute rest and then there is an abundance of energy and focus that starts to come over the clients in most cases and it is common to feel healthier and more energized then normal.  Many people work with Kambo to overcome laziness or panema and seek this heightened level of energy and focus. "Panema" is a native term that translates to negative entities believed to manifest in physical sickness, mental depression and bad luck. Kambo can give us a nice and quick jolt back in reality.

Each tribe has its own legend or story about how they came to use Kambo. The most prevalent legend comes from Brazil…

This Huni Kuin (Kaxinawá) legend tells that the Indians of the tribe were very ill and their medicine man (Pajé in Brazil) had done everything that was possible to cure them. All medicinal herbs known were used, but none helped. Under the effect of sacred plant medicine of Ayahuasca, he entered the forest and whilst there he received a visit from a female spirit of the forest.

She brought in her hands a frog, from which she took a white secretion, and taught the Pajé how to apply it. Returning to the tribe and following the guidelines he had received, the Pajé was able to cure his brothers and sisters and the whole village. From then on he was known as Pajé Kampu or Kampum. β€‹The secretion became known as Kambo, but in some tribes it is called Sapo, Dow-Kiet, Kampu or Vacina da Floresta.

Usage spread, and for thousands of years, Kambô has been used as medicine by the Huni Kuin (Kaxinawá) people, and by many other indigenous groups including the Amahuaca, Katukina, Kulina, Yawanawá, Matsés, Marubo and Mayoruna. It is still used widely amongst indigenous people in the Amazon to this day.

All of our medicine is sourced locally from the Matses tribe in Peru helping support their way of life.  Our first concern with Kambo is always safety - and when proper safety precautions are observed this medicine is extremely safe and amazingly beneficial.
